About MOHD ELIAS
Hi there! I'm Mohd Elias, and if you had told me 20 years ago that I would one day be teaching math to young students, I might have been surprised. But here I am — and I wouldn't have it any other way.
I am an Engineering Graduate who has spent over two decades applying mathematics to solve real-world engineering challenges. From complex calculations to structural problem-solving, math has been my daily companion throughout my entire career.
A few years ago, I discovered something unexpected: I genuinely love explaining math. There is a special kind of joy in watching a student's eyes light up when a concept they once found terrifying suddenly makes perfect sense. That moment — the "aha!" moment — is what drives me as a tutor.
Today, I work with students from Standard 1 all the way to Form 5, using a puzzle-based teaching method that transforms intimidating equations into manageable, even enjoyable, challenges. My engineering background gives me a unique edge: I don't just teach students how to solve a problem — I show them why it works, using logic and real-life examples that stick.
To the parents reading this: I understand the worry that comes with seeing your child struggle in math. Please know that your child is in experienced, caring, and professional hands. I take every student's progress personally, and I am committed to creating a learning space where they feel safe, supported, and inspired to grow.
Let's work together to turn math from a source of stress into a source of strength.

My Techniques & Teaching Methodology
I don't believe in memorizing formulas blindly. After 20+ years of solving real engineering problems, I've learned that math is simply logic in disguise — and logic can be taught to anyone.
Here's how I do it:
1. The Puzzle-First Method
Every math concept is broken down into small, bite-sized "puzzle pieces." Instead of overwhelming students with a big problem, I teach them to identify the pieces, understand how they connect, and solve step by step — just like completing a jigsaw puzzle. This removes the panic and replaces it with curiosity.
2. Real-World Connections
As an engineer, I've used math to build, design, and solve actual problems. I bring those stories into class so students see why math matters — not just how to pass an exam. When a student understands the "why," the "how" becomes effortless.
3. Visual & Hands-On Learning ️
I use diagrams, color-coded steps, mind maps, and interactive problem-solving to make abstract concepts visible and tangible. No boring lectures — just active, engaging sessions where the student does the thinking.
4. Confidence-Building Through Small Wins
I start each session with problems the student can solve, then gradually increase the difficulty. This builds momentum and self-belief. By the end, they're tackling questions they once thought were impossible.
5. Exam-Ready Drill & Strategy
For Form 4 & Form 5 students preparing for SPM, I incorporate past-year paper analysis, time-management techniques, and common mistake spotting so they walk into exams feeling prepared and calm.
Typical Lesson Length
Session Type Duration
Standard Session 1.5 – 2 hours
Intensive / Exam Prep 2 – 2.5 hours
Each session is carefully structured:
First 10–15 min → Warm-up & quick recap of the previous lesson
Next 30–40 min → New concept introduction (Puzzle Method)
Next 30–40 min → Guided practice & independent problem-solving
Last 10–15 min → Recap, Q&A, and a mini "challenge puzzle" to solve before next class
Session length can be adjusted based on the student's age and attention span — shorter, more focused sessions for younger learners.
My Qualifications & Experience
Engineering Graduate with a strong foundation in advanced mathematics, physics, and analytical problem-solving
20+ Years of Professional Engineering Experience — applying math daily in real-world, high-stakes environments
Experienced Tutor with a proven track record of helping students improve their grades and, more importantly, their attitude toward math
Patient, Adaptable & Student-Centered — I tailor my pace and style to each individual learner, because no two students think the same way
My superpower? I speak both "Engineer" and "Student." I can simplify complex topics without dumbing them down.
