About Safoora
Hi! I'm a dedicated high school student heading to Queen’s University next year, and I’ve consistently earned a 95–100% average in all four years of high school math, including Calculus, Advanced Functions, and more. I know what it takes to succeed — not just in understanding the material, but in developing the right mindset and strategies to excel. What makes me different is that I explain math in a clear, relatable, and step-by-step way, helping students truly understand the concepts rather than just memorize formulas. Because I’ve recently completed these courses myself, I know exactly how they’re taught, how tests are structured, and what teachers expect. I’ve helped classmates and younger students gain confidence in their math skills, improve their marks, and even begin to enjoy a subject they once found difficult. Whether you're struggling or aiming for top grades, I’ll work with you at your pace — with patience, encouragement, and effective strategies that actually work. Let’s make math make sense — and even a little fun!

I break down complex math problems into simple, easy-to-understand steps. My sessions are interactive — I don’t just show solutions; I explain the why behind every step to build true understanding. I also use analogies and visual aids when needed, and tailor my explanations based on the student's learning style (visual, hands-on, step-by-step, etc.).
Typical Lesson Plan
Quick Check-In (5 mins) – Review homework or problems the student found tricky.
Concept Focus (20-25 mins) – Teach or revisit a core concept using examples, guided practice, and clarification.
Practice Time (20 mins) – Student solves similar problems with increasing difficulty, with my guidance as needed.
Wrap-Up & Tips (5-10 mins) – Summarize key takeaways, provide custom strategies or memory tricks, and assign light, targeted practice if desired.
What Sets Me Apart
I’m a high-achieving student with a 95–100% average in all four years of high school math, including Calculus.
I'm heading to Queen’s University, which reflects my dedication and academic success.
Because I’ve recently taken these courses, I deeply understand both the content and how it’s taught — including what teachers really look for on tests.
I relate well to students because I’ve been in their shoes, and I know how to explain concepts in a way that makes sense to them.

Recommendations
Recommendations come from relatives, friends and acquaintances of the teacher
My tutor is an exceptional teacher, I've personally learned from her for the past year and I have been able to achieve my goal of obtaining a 90+ average in grade 10 AP math. She does extra hours during exam time and was able to complete the whole courses worth of review in less than a month before my exam! This helped me ace both my culminative and exam. Initially it was her credentials (95+ average in each year of math) that drew my family into choosing her but Safoora has much more to offer! She is patient, supportive and always willing to help others succeed, which are qualities that make her a great teacher and role model.
