About Austin
1) 8 months experience working at a high-achieving, diverse London grammar school, tutoring GCSE & A-level students 1-to-1. (Employment includes Enhanced DBS check).
2) Run peer tutoring sessions within Imperial College London for 1st year mathematics students.
3) Worked within summer schools preparing students for top university entrance exams, focusing on problem solving aspects.
4) Volunteered my skills providing 1-to-1 tutoring to disadvantaged students applying for mathematics at top universities.
(My experience includes 100s of hours of in-person, and as of late, online tutoring)

My general teaching philosophy distilled:
1) Above all: patience and understanding when working with students. Each has different needs.
2) Provide example questions that highlight exactly the issues the pupil is grappling with. (An acquired skill from my own long mathematics education and from working with many students).
3) Teach underlying concepts thoroughly and clearly. Good fundamental understanding will avoid much unnecessary rote memorisation.
4) Be engaging and enthusiastic myself! (No student wants to sit for hours with boring conversation and uninteresting questions.)
