About Sam
I am a 22-year-old maths graduate based in the Southport area. I have experience with the new style GCSEs and A-levels having sat them myself and achieved 9s and A*s respectively.
Simplifying concepts and helping others with their understanding of maths problems is something I am passionate about. Some of my favourite lessons throughout university were tutorials in small groups where we worked through tricky problems together and helped each other arrive at the solution. I aim to bring this to all of my lessons, during which I will coach you through the different problem-solving approaches and help you arrive at the solution.
Outside of maths I also enjoy sailing. In addition to competing at an international level in this sport, I also have experience with coaching it. Helping others improve their skills and results feels great and the process is incredibly fun.

Lessons will typically last for 1 hour. These will be tailored to your needs as an individual pupil and we will focus on the areas where you would like to strengthen your skills. Before the lesson, I will ask about the topics you want to work on and prepare materials specific to your aims.
We can dive into the intuition of a complex concept to simplify things and help with understanding or we can work through tricky problems from past papers which is often a great way to solidify your mathematical intuition.
I teach both A-level and GCSE students. Whether you are looking for some assistance with the basic concepts or aiming for the top grades, I am here to help you succeed.
