About Heloise

About Me I am a passionate VFX artist, filmmaker, and educator with nearly a decade of teaching experience in 3D modeling, video editing, and filmmaking. Throughout my career, I have worked on major productions, including *Atlas* (Netflix), *Mufasa: The Lion King*, and *Transformers: Rise of the Beasts*, bringing real-world industry expertise into my lessons. As a professor and recipient of the Excellence in Teaching Award from Collège Lasalle, I take pride in helping students develop both technical skills and creative confidence. My teaching approach is hands-on, project-based, and tailored to each student’s goals—whether you’re a beginner exploring the field or an aspiring professional aiming to break into the industry. I specialize in Maya, Adobe Premiere, and visual storytelling, ensuring that my students not only master the software but also understand industry workflows and artistic principles. My lessons bridge theory with practice, guiding students in creating portfolio-ready projects and developing problem-solving skills that align with industry standards. About the lesson

My Teaching Methodology & Techniques As a tutor, I believe in a hands-on, project-based approach to learning. I break down complex concepts into simple, easy-to-understand steps, ensuring students grasp both the technical and artistic aspects of 3D modeling, video editing, and filmmaking. My lessons balance theory and practice, allowing students to immediately apply what they learn. I also encourage creative problem-solving, helping students develop workflows that fit industry standards. I tailor my teaching to each student's pace and goals, whether they want to pursue a career in VFX, animation, or filmmaking, or simply improve their skills for personal projects. --- A Typical Lesson Plan 1. Introduction & Objective – Briefly outline what we’ll learn and its relevance to the industry. 2. Theory & Fundamentals – Cover key principles (e.g., modeling techniques, video editing concepts, or cinematography rules). 3. Hands-on Practice – Apply the theory in a guided exercise using Maya or Adobe Premiere. 4. Creative Project Work – Students work on a real-world project, receiving feedback and guidance. 5. Q&A & Troubleshooting – Address challenges, refine skills, and explore different creative solutions. 6. Mrs. Magny was my instructor during my 3D Modeling for Games course at LaSalle College – Vancouver, BC. We had weekly virtual meetings where she delved deeper into the topics covered in the modules we had to study before class.

As a teacher, Mrs. Magny is extremely intelligent, detail-oriented, attentive, and charismatic, providing full support to students both during lessons and in the assignments we had to submit for performance evaluation.
