About Rick

Former College Prof, as well as Continuing Education teacher, and private Consultant to Corporations and Government departments for staff professional development. Additionally spend many years as a senior Engineering Technologist responsible for training and mentoring new staff in a technical field.

About the lesson

I enjoy step by step lecturing of concepts while watching the student screens to ensure they are following the concepts and gleaning the appropriate information. I believe in explaining the "why" of how things work as well as encouraging blatant experimentation to see what happens.

Perfect! Rick was very methodical and friendly. He did NOT simply give me the answers, but instead guided me to learn and experiment as we went so that I was building those processes in my brain rather than blindly following verbal instructions. I can't wait to have another problem so I can contact him again! LOL

Rick has helped me with a bunch of IT instruction over the past many years, from hardware (failed hard drive replacement) to software, (teaching windows and all MS Office components). I especially like Rick's strong "learning by doing" approach. He is incredibly familiar with Word, Excel and PP, and helps guide me with step by step instructions so I actually learn the processes and become more comfortable with exploring on my own afterwards. As per Rick's influence, I LOVE my software "best friend" of CONTROL-Z! :)

I live in Metchosin and can happily host a session here if you bring your laptop. I am also happy to travel anywhere around Greater Victoria or up to Duncan for an extra $1/km one way
