About Toru
I hold a Master of Science in Computer Science and have more than 17 years of professional experience in software development, IT consulting, and scientific research. For over 10 years, I have also taught and mentored undergraduate students at Massachusetts General Hospital, helping them learn programming, research computing, and problem-solving skills.
My expertise includes Python, C/C++, machine learning, deep learning, image processing, and high-performance computing. I combine real-world industry experience with a patient, structured teaching approach, tailoring each lesson to the student's goals and experience level. Because I have been teaching and supporting undergraduate students for over 10 years at a scientific laboratory at Massachusetts General Hospital, I have developed a patient and practical approach to tutoring. I explain concepts step by step, adapt my teaching style to each student's level, and encourage questions to ensure they fully understand the material.
In addition to software development, I have extensive knowledge of computer hardware and high-performance computing systems.
