About Surendra

About Me: Your Guide on the Musical Journey
Hi, I'm Surendra (Pavan)!

Whether you are picking up the guitar for the very first time, looking to break out of a playing rut, or wanting to master complex music theory, I am here to help you reach your goals.

With over 18 years of teaching and performance experience, I have helped hundreds of students of all ages and skill levels find their unique musical voice. My background spans classical training, contemporary performance, and structured music education, which means you get a teacher who combines deep technical knowledge with real-world, practical experience.

Why You Can Trust My Approach
Stepping into a new learning environment can feel intimidating. That is why my studio is built on three core pillars: structure, patience, and professional support.

Tailored, Step-by-Step Curriculum: You won't get a "one-size-fits-all" method. Together, we will map out a clear, step-by-step syllabus designed around your personal goals, musical tastes, and learning style.

A Safe Space to Grow: Learning an instrument involves making mistakes—and that’s exactly how we learn! I provide a highly supportive, encouraging, and patient environment where you can progress at a pace that feels comfortable for you.

Professional, High-Quality Lessons: Every lesson is delivered with crisp audio, high-definition video, and interactive digital resources. You will receive customized lesson summaries, custom arrangements, and actionable practice sheets after every class to ensure you always know exactly what to work on.

My Promise to You
My goal is not just to teach you how to play songs, but to give you the tools, confidence, and technique to understand the instrument fully. From our very first lesson, we will focus on building solid habits, proper physical posture to prevent strain, and a genuine love for making music.

Ready to take the first step?
Book a trial lesson with me today. Let's talk about your musical goals, assess your current level, and build a fun, personalized roadmap to get you playing the music you love!

About the lesson

My Teaching Philosophy & Approach
I believe music should be a source of joy, not frustration. My goal is to bridge the gap between technical discipline and creative expression, making sure you walk away from every single lesson with a tangible win.

Teaching Techniques & Methods
I use a student-centered, adaptive approach rather than a rigid "one-size-fits-all" method.

The "Song-First" Method: We extract core music theory, chord shapes, and scale patterns directly from the songs you love, rather than memorizing dry exercises.

Micro-Learning: I break down complex techniques (like barre chords or fingerpicking patterns) into bite-sized, 5-minute daily practice goals.

Visual & Kinesthetic Scaffolding: I use interactive digital fretboard diagrams, custom color-coded tabs, and real-time slow-motion video demonstrations.

️ Typical Lesson Structure (50 Minutes)
Each session is designed to maximize engagement and ensure steady progress:

The Icebreaker & Warm-Up (5 mins): A quick, fun finger-stretching exercise or a review of last week's riff to get the hands moving.

Progress Check-in & Troubleshoot (10 mins): We review your practice goals, address any stumbling blocks, and celebrate your progress.

The Main Concept (15 mins): Introducing a new technique, scale, or song segment using clear, step-by-step guidance.

Guided Practice & Jamming (15 mins): We play the new concept together. I provide real-time feedback on your posture, timing, and hand positioning.

Actionable Wrap-Up (5 mins): We record a quick video recap of the lesson and set a clear, realistic practice roadmap for the week.

My Special Features as a Teacher
Personalized Video Recaps: After every lesson, I send you a brief, custom video highlighting what to practice so you never feel lost at home.

Custom Arrangements: If a song you want to learn is too difficult, I will arrange a custom version that perfectly matches your current skill level.

Flexible Genre Mastery: Whether you want to acoustic-strum folk songs, improvise blues solos, or shred heavy metal riffs, I have the professional background to guide you.

Who These Classes Are For
My lessons are thoughtfully tailored to meet the unique learning styles of different age groups:

School Children (Ages 8-12): Fun, high-energy sessions filled with musical games, simplified chords, and instant gratification to keep them excited.

Teens & College Students: Perfect for busy schedules. We focus on creative expression, songwriting basics, and playing popular tracks to de-stress.

Adult Hobbyists & Professionals: Designed for the busy adult. I offer efficient, high-yield practice strategies that fit into a tight schedule, helping you unwind and master your bucket-list instrument.
