About Ann
Helping students enjoy the violin is what makes teaching so rewarding for me. I love seeing the moment when a piece that once felt difficult suddenly starts to sound smooth and confident.
After completing my Bachelor of Music, I've spent 8 years teaching teenagers and adult students with different goals and experience. Those years have shown me that patience and steady practice often lead to the biggest improvements.
I want every student to enjoy learning, not just finish a lesson. When students feel relaxed, they learn better, play with more confidence, and are excited to keep improving week after week.

Good violin playing starts with strong basics, and that's where we spend most of our time in the beginning. As your confidence grows, each lesson adds something new while giving you enough time to enjoy learning without feeling rushed.
We'll practise posture, bow hold, finger placement, rhythm, intonation, vibrato, shifting, ear training, sight reading, tone production, music theory, and performance skills. If a section feels tricky, we'll break it into smaller parts until it becomes easier to play.
I keep lessons organised with simple practice goals and regular progress checks, so you always know what to work on. Before long, you'll notice smoother playing, better sound, and more confidence every time you pick up your violin.
