About Valerie
Teaching violin for 13 years has shown me that precision is essential for progress. I work with students ranging from nervous beginners to those preparing for ABRSM or Trinity grade exams, adapting my approach to their individual needs.
With a MMus from the Curtis Institute of Music, I emphasize strong foundations in sight-reading, double stops, and proper tone production. Each lesson is designed to build both technique and confidence.
Whether you are starting from scratch or preparing for an exam, I provide focused guidance and practical tools to help you make steady progress and reach your goals.

Since I want you to retain the nuances of our sessions, I provide recorded playback of tricky passages for home practice to ensure you never lose your way between meetings. Whether we are focusing on classical repertoire, tuning by ear, or refining your vibrato and rhythm, I keep the energy high to match the 108 students I have successfully coached. Drawing from my 13 years in the industry, I make sure every bow stroke serves the music and your technical development.
My goal is to see you perform with total confidence. We move through the material at a pace that ensures deep understanding.
