About Dana
Playing violin alongside my colleagues at the New York Philharmonic remains a quiet highlight of my life. 7 years of teaching students ranging from 4-year-old beginners to audition track teenagers has taught me the value of patience. I work through the nuances of scales and arpeggios, precise intonation, and vibrant vibrato with every student.
My home studio in Washington DC sees a steady stream of curious minds exploring ear training and classical repertoire. Relaxation is the primary foundation for everything we cover in these sessions. Freedom of motion dictates how we approach technical hurdles and artistic expression. My work emphasizes the Rolland method to ensure the physical body remains at ease during demanding practice.
