About Sara
"Most people think playing piano is about hitting the right notes at high speed. Actually, the most important part is learning how to listen to the space between those notes. Having taught 279 students, I have seen how different minds process music. My 10 years of experience as a national tour performer and NYU Tisch BFA graduate informs how I approach the bench.
I emphasize solid technique and confident self-accompaniment. You will gain access to my annotated practice notes after every lesson. It is really just about the music."

"Playing piano becomes accessible when you focus on the fundamentals of rhythm and timing. Sight reading is a skill that improves rapidly with consistent, small adjustments to your technique. I teach absolute beginners, kids, and teens how to master scales, arpeggios, and pedalling without feeling overwhelmed. We incorporate ear training into every session to sharpen your musical intuition.
Hand independence develops best when we move slowly and deliberately through the repertoire. You will leave feeling capable because you have the annotated practice notes to guide your home study."
