About Kimberley
Hello there! I am Kim, originally from Singapore, I have been living in Australia on and off throughout my life. I am currently a tutorial demonstrator at the University of Western Australia, teaching a range of units in the biological sciences up to the Masters level. I hold a BComm (International Business, Curtin University) and a BS (Zoology, UWA), as well as a MBiolSci (Zoology, UWA - with distinction). I am a current PhD Candidate at UWA studying cognition in terrestrial invertebrates. You could say I'm a bit of an animal lover! I have two pet cats, Pebbles and Bosco, and have been an assistant instructor of hippotherapy at the Riding for the Disabled Association in Singapore for over 10 years. I look forward to working with you!

Our lessons begin with direct-instruction of new material and hands-on activities where we work together to understand key concepts. Subsequently, we move into guided and independent practice to build your knowledge in the subject area, as well as confidence in answering questions. I am a strong believer that direct-instruction is essential for forming strong foundational knowledge essential for understanding the material to an assessable level.
I also offer the flexibility of differentiated learning, especially in preparation for exams and upcoming assessments. Here, I use a range of teaching methods to test existing knowledge, and help identify areas where students can benefit from additional guided practice.
