About Tirthankar

I have Masters in Biotechnology and a doctorate in the same subject. I have published research papers to my credit but feel very enthusiastically about teaching and the process involved, especially given my involvement with high school and bachelor students before and after. I am passionate about knowing why the living world behaves the way it is and love to share the information with those who feel feel the same way. I am open to deliberation and discussion on any aspect of learning that are based on logic or wonder, either way..

About the lesson

I like to begin every lesson with WHY! Explaining to students why a given lesson is important and what insights and benefits will it provide. The next stage is to present the basic information within the lesson and allowing the students to relate to the WHY asked in the first place. Post foundational discourse, the session is open to discussion which generally addresses the other relevant details of the lesson. Lastly, a recapitulation of the concepts and few tips to wrap up the lesson. I give assignments only when it is necessary to help grasp the subject more objectively.

Tirthankar worked with my former colleague of a Tea R&D Centre for his postgraduate research. Over the past two years I have come to know him closely and been aware about his achievments. Tirthankar has an excellent educational and professional career including appointments in government agencies. With a highest academic degree in Biology (PhD Plant Molecuar Biology) Tirthankar not only contributed to the advancement of biology, he trained students and team members in plant biology research. Besides several peer reviewed research publications to his credit, Tirthankar has exemplified trust, dedication, hardwork, teamwork and excellence in his career.
