About Anna

I am a dedicated tutor with a Master’s degree in Computer Science and several years of experience helping students succeed in math, computer science, and ACT/SAT preparation. My background includes university teaching experience as a teaching assistant, one-on-one tutoring, and teaching STEM camps for students of various ages and skill levels. I focus on creating personalized lessons that build both understanding and confidence, while keeping students engaged and motivated throughout the learning process. My goal is not only to help students improve their grades and test scores, but also to help them develop stronger problem-solving skills and a more positive attitude toward learning.

About the lesson

My approach as a tutor is centered around helping students feel comfortable, engaged, and confident while still challenging them to grow. I believe students learn best when they understand the reasoning behind concepts rather than simply memorizing steps or formulas. Because of this, I focus heavily on clear explanations, interactive problem solving, and adapting lessons to each student’s individual learning style and goals. I work with middle school, high school, and early college students in subjects including ACT/SAT preparation, math, computer science, and STEM-related coursework.

A typical lesson usually begins with reviewing previous material and identifying any areas of confusion or difficulty. From there, we work through guided examples together before transitioning into independent practice so students can apply concepts on their own while still receiving support and feedback. For standardized test preparation, I also emphasize pacing strategies, pattern recognition, and reducing test anxiety in addition to improving content knowledge. My goal is not only to help students raise scores or improve grades, but also to help them become more confident and independent learners over time.

What sets me apart is my ability to make difficult material feel more approachable and less intimidating. Throughout my teaching and tutoring experience, students have often told me they appreciate how patient, encouraging, and easy to work with I am. I try to create an environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and making mistakes, because that is often where the most meaningful learning happens.
