About Rachel

Hi :) My name is Rachel, and I am an experienced educator with over 13 years of teaching experience in both general education and special education, and I have a master's degree in school counseling. My main focus is working with students in kindergarten through 8th grade, helping them build confidence, strengthen foundational skills, and develop a positive attitude toward learning.

I also have experience tutoring adults in basic math skills to help them prepare for entrance exams, gain acceptance into programs and schools, and succeed in coursework while pursuing education degrees.

Outside of teaching, I enjoy running, reading, spending time outdoors, and making memories with my family and kids. These interests help me bring patience, energy, and creativity into my work with students.

I strive to create a supportive and encouraging learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and learning at their own pace. I offer tutoring in math, reading, writing, homework help, study skills, and foundational academic support tailored to each learner’s needs.

About the lesson

I am an experienced elementary educator with over 13 years of experience in both general education and special education. My goal is to help students build confidence, strengthen skills, and enjoy learning in a supportive environment.

I use a patient, step-by-step teaching approach that is tailored to each student’s learning style and pace. Lessons typically include a quick review, guided practice, interactive activities, and independent work to check understanding. I focus on making learning clear, engaging, and encouraging.

What sets me apart is my ability to connect with students, adapt lessons to their needs, and create a positive learning experience where they feel comfortable asking questions and growing academically. I feel that my education and experience have allowed me to work with varying levels and with differing age groups, which has made me versatile and adaptable to different learners.

I work with primarily K-7th grade students and offer support in math, reading, writing, homework help, study skills, and foundational academic skills. I do have experience working with adults in many different areas such as TABE exams, college education programs, and basic math review/test prep.
