About Sierra
I have wanted to be a teacher for as long as I can remember. I went to Southern Connecticut State University for both my undergraduate degree and my master's degree, and wrote a 90-page guidebook on how teachers can help students with learning disabilities in the classroom. My passion for helping struggling learners came from going through school with undiagnosed dyslexia until I reached college. I had to learn how my brain worked on my own, and how to compensate. I was able to achieve my master's degree with a 4.0 despite being dyslexic, and I’m passionate to help all of my students with making math a little less scary.

I believe in meeting students where they’re at! We will build your foundational skills that you may have missed or forgotten, so that as new material comes up, you’ll be comfortable conquering it! If one style of teaching doesn’t work for you, then it’s my job to present the material a different way. In college I had a focus on teaching students with learning disabilities, so I’m prepared to help ALL my learners reach their goals.
