About Kieran
Hi, I’m Kieran, a passionate and friendly piano teacher with a background in jazz and contemporary music. I love helping students of all ages discover the joy of playing the piano in a way that suits their unique interests and learning style. Whether you want to explore jazz standards, improvise, write your own music, or play your favorite songs, I aim to make lessons creative, supportive, and fun. I believe in building a strong musical foundation while encouraging self-expression, confidence, and a lifelong love of music.

In my approach to piano teaching, I focus on creating a student-centered and engaging learning environment. I incorporate creativity through improvisation, composition, and exposure to a variety of musical genres beyond just classical. I also teach theory, aural skills, and rhythm as an integrated part of lessons rather than as separate subjects. Inclusivity and cultural responsiveness are important to me, and I strive to make lessons accessible and relevant to each student. I encourage collaboration through duets and group activities, and I aim to balance technical development with personal expression, creativity, and a genuine enjoyment of music.
