About Beth
Hi, I am an enthusiastic tutor with a passion for all things History and English!
I hold an Honours degree in History from the University of Nottingham (2018) after receiving an unconditional offer to study. I then went on to complete a Masters in TV Journalism from City, University of London (2019).
Before that, I studied the International Baccalaureate where I achieved 36 points, including 6 in History HL and 7 in English Literature & Language SL. I also achieved 3 points in the Core aspect of the IB and an A in my Extended Essay and Theory of Knowledge.
I received 11 GCSEs A*-A, including A*s in History, English Literature, English Language, Drama, Maths and Physics.
My tutoring experience includes teaching international students who come over to the UK for the summer to learn English. Although this is a very intense way to learn some of the techniques can be applied to longer terms goals.
This work means I have experience in the new format of GCSEs as well as the old format.
I offer to tutoring in History, English and Drama, specialising in exam technique and essay writing. I also offer to tutor in all things IB.
Other qualifications:
Advanced First Aid Training

You could know every date of every battle or every word of every Shakespeare play, but if you don't know how to apply your knowledge to the questions you're going to be asked you may struggle. Exam technique is the key.
I walked into my final school exams able to predict which topics would come up and what the exact questions were going to be. Every student should be able to do the same. Walking into an exam shouldn't be nerve-racking or intimidating because you've practiced it so many times before.
I aim to get students the highest marks possible by using exam technique and preparation. Exams aren't scary if you know what you're walking into.
