About Daniel

I know what it’s like to struggle with maths — I actually failed it at GCSE level. But through determination, curiosity, and a real love for how maths shapes the world around us, I rebuilt my understanding from the ground up. That journey taught me that anyone can learn maths with the right approach. My path into maths has been unconventional. I hold a Master’s in Art and Science from UAL and spent over 15 years managing large-scale sculpture fabrication projects. In that world, maths was never abstract — it was a daily tool used for design, measurement, and problem-solving. Those experiences gave me a practical, hands-on understanding of mathematical concepts in action. That’s what I offer my students: real, working knowledge. Lessons that connect mathematical ideas to tangible experiences, showing how numbers, ratios, and geometry underpin the world we build and live in. About the lesson

I focus on depth over breadth — building strong foundations and exploring how concepts connect across topics. Every lesson is uniquely planned and articulated, tailored to the student’s needs rather than driven by rote GCSE question drills. While I cover all topics up to GCSE level and welcome learners of any age, my real priority is developing a deep, flexible understanding that lasts. Each session runs for an hour, with the first ten minutes dedicated to open dialogue — exploring curiosities, confusions, and the “why” behind the maths. These insights shape the following lesson, where I use real-world, practical examples to make abstract ideas tangible. This approach helps students begin to think like mathematicians, not just solve like them.
