I have worked as a teaching assistant, nanny and childminder, and as a tutor for many years, both within the UK and abroad. I have also worked in academic journal translation and now I work in educational publishing dealing with school resources.

Hello! My name is George and languages and maths are my passions! I see a lot of similarities between them: the rules, the logic, the patterns and the formulas.... that's why I chose to study languages at university, but now I work in educational publishing mainly dealing with maths and science resources for schools.
I've worked as a teaching assistant, tutor and nanny for many years, so I know how stressful exams and revision can be. The key is preparation and practice and I promise you will be fine. Hopefully I can help you improve your confidence, which ultimately always leads to boosting your grade as well.
When tutoring, I want my students to feel that they can take charge - whether that's presenting me with specific questions or concepts you want to go over, or if you want to ask me to plan and dictate a lesson for you if you're not sure what you want to go over that week. I personally think the true test of whether you know and understand a topic is being able to explain it to someone else - so I encourage all my students to give me a mini summary lesson at the end of our session together. I also find colours, visual aids and repetition extremely useful but if there's a strategy that you know works well for you then I'm happy for you to lead the way! You know how you learn best.
