About Quinton
I currently hold two degrees in French Language and Literature Studies: A Bachelor with an English Minor, and a Master's. I graduated with a French Teaching Specialization. I have spent two years as a Teaching Assistant at the University of Waterloo. There, I taught lessons, marked work, and generally managed the classroom. I also have experience in elementary school classrooms, with a variety of grades. I am currently attending Wilfrid Laurier University to receive my Bachelor of Education.

My teaching methodology puts an emphasis on understanding the current knowledge of the student and working with them to find areas we are both interested in improving. When working with a student, I like to set a methodical pace that in-class instruction fails to provide. In a classroom, a teacher is tasked with ensuring a group of students develop the skills required of them as determined by the provincial curriculum. With only so much time on a teacher's hands, and so many students to divide it between, many students fall through the cracks and find themselves believing they just CAN'T understand a subject.
This is not true. Anyone can learn anything given enough time and practice. In my tutoring, I am able to devote my full attention to one student, and give them as much time as needed to help them understand a concept before moving to the next one. If ever you felt like the classroom didn't give you what you need, please consider contacting me. Working together, we WILL get your French to where you want it to be.

Perfect! Quinton was a great French tutor for my daughter; he agreed to a last-minute lesson before her DELF exam and was structured, organized, and very helpful. He gave great advice as well as exam strategies personalized to her strengths and weaknesses. Would highly recommend!
Perfect! He’s an amazing teacher, he makes the session a collaborative place. He will do what works best for you and will advise accordingly.
Perfect! Quinton has been a tremendous help in teaching me to speak more confidently. He asks good questions that help me keep my train of thought going, and he helps me develop everyday vocabulary related to my interests! I would recommend him to anyone who enjoys an interactive learning experience.
Perfect! Quniton creates a genuinely engaging and supportive learning environment that makes the language feel both accessible and enjoyable. He is very patient and dedicated to the progress. I have seen a noticeable improvement in my comprehension and confidence.
- Amisha has a solid French background and strong strategies for self-improvement. Her oral fluency is good, with only minor errors when asked to read a paragraph without prep.Quinton's response :
She understands many of the mechanics of French, needing practice only in their continued application. For example, she can explain the difference between passé composé and imparfait, as well as how to apply their respective conjugations, but needs practice actually doing the application, as her accuracy therein is inconsistent.
The student could also benefit from practicing certain French sounds, such as "eu, an, en, in."
Amisha is very pleasant to work with and is motivated to achieve her TEF in April. I look forward to continuing to work with this student.
