About Remy
I’m a recent graduate of the University of St Andrews, where I earned a first class master’s degree in mathematics, where my degree also included a selection of modules closely tied to various physics topics. I am deeply passionate about the importance of STEM subjects and of sharing this specialist subject knowledge with others.
Since I started tutoring six years ago, this passion has only gown. I love working with students to build their confidence in their own skills and sharing the beauty I see in the sciences, even when they become complex. Over the years I have built an ability to simplify complex and abstract topics into step-by-step explanations, tailoring my approach to each student’s strengths. On a practical level, I've helped a variety of students achieve the grades they've needed for the next steps in their educations.
While my tutoring experience is mostly with GCSE and A level students, I have also volunteered as a classroom assistant on multiple occasions, including practical experience working with students ranging in age from year 1 all the way up to sixth form.

I offer support in reviewing topics students have encountered already in class, filling in any gaps in understanding, building physical intuition, and identifying the core focus of questions. We work thoroughly through definitions and example questions to improve students’ confidence in applying the theory they have been taught. My lessons are designed to encourage students to identify what they already know and to develop the skills and subject knowledge to approach problems even when they seem unfamiliar.
I work on a flexible plan which can be adjusted week-by-week to accommodate new topics and questions as they arise in class. I can also review older content in parallel with the class work, depending on which is more needed.
I have six years of experience as a tutor and over four years of experience tutoring specifically GCSE physics. I have worked with students of a range of ages and levels of confidence. Lessons are run online and are typically 1 hour long.

Remy is very patient and explains difficult concepts in an understandable way. They were an enormous help for me when I was preparing for my Mathematics A-level and helped me to achieve an A grade. Besides being an excellent tutor, they are reliable and communicate well.
