About Alexander
My name is Alexander (Wai Teng) Ao Ieong, and I am a flutist from Macau currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Flute Performance at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna (mdw), where I also completed my Bachelor’s degree with a focus on chamber music.
Throughout my musical journey, I have performed as a soloist with orchestra, appeared in recitals internationally, and participated in renowned youth orchestras such as the Asia Youth Orchestra and the Greater Bay Area Youth Orchestra. These experiences have allowed me to work with distinguished musicians and perform in concert halls across Europe and Asia.
As a teacher, I believe that every student learns differently. My goal is to help each student develop a solid technical foundation while fostering musical expression, confidence, and enjoyment in making music. Whether you are a complete beginner, an advancing student preparing for examinations, or an amateur flutist looking to improve, I tailor my teaching approach to your individual needs and goals.
Lessons are available in English, Cantonese, and Mandarin. I strive to create a supportive and encouraging learning environment in which students can progress at their own pace while developing a lifelong appreciation for music.

I will try to let your imagination fly during the lesson, because music is all about imagination. Of course, we should play in the style of the piece, but within that framework there are millions of personal choices.
Basic exercises and etudes will be included, and students of all levels are welcome.
