About Marco
My name is Marco, and I am a mathematics and engineering graduate with several years of experience tutoring students at the high school and undergraduate levels. I have worked as a Student Group Leader in the AC² (CSTEP) Program, where I supported first-generation and underrepresented students through one-on-one tutoring, structured study sessions, and academic mentoring. These experiences taught me how to explain complex topics clearly, patiently, and in a way that builds confidence.
I take my role as a tutor seriously and always come prepared, organized, and focused on each student’s goals. I believe learning works best in a supportive and respectful environment, where questions are encouraged and mistakes are part of the process. As someone who has navigated challenging math and engineering courses myself, I understand the pressure students feel and work hard to make lessons productive, encouraging, and stress-free. My goal is not only to help students improve their grades, but to help them feel capable and confident in their abilities.

My approach as a tutor is centered on making math feel clear, manageable, and less intimidating. I focus on helping students understand the why behind each concept rather than memorizing steps. During a typical lesson, I work with students to review key ideas, walk through examples together, and then practice problems at a pace that matches their comfort level. I adapt each session based on how the student learns best, whether they need visual explanations, real-world examples, or step-by-step guidance. What sets me apart is my engineering background, which helps me connect math concepts to practical applications and problem-solving strategies. My lessons are ideal for middle school, high school, and undergraduate students taking algebra, trigonometry, calculus, or introductory physics, especially those looking to build confidence and strengthen their fundamentals.
