About Shreyas

Hi, I’m Shreyas. I completed my Master of Engineering at the University of Toronto (often ranked the #1 engineering school in Canada) and my bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering at IIT Bombay (often ranked the #1 engineering institute in India). I enjoy making math and physics feel simple and logical, especially for students who feel the subject is “not for them” yet.

I’m patient, structured, and results-focused. I break topics into clear steps, show you how to start questions confidently, and help you build the habit of checking your work so your marks improve steadily. You will always leave with a quick summary of what we covered and what to practice next.

Along with tutoring, I volunteer as a 3D printing and 3D modeling workshop instructor for Grade 2–12 students globally. This has made me very comfortable teaching younger learners, keeping lessons engaging, and explaining concepts in a simple, friendly way.

I prefer online lessons. Limited in-person support can be arranged in downtown Toronto only.

About the lesson

Teaching methodology and techniques:

I adapt my teaching to the student’s age, level, and confidence.
Grades 5–8: visual explanations, small steps, and lots of quick practice to build strong fundamentals and reduce math anxiety.
Grades 9–12 + first year uni: structured problem solving, exam strategies, and common mistake checks.
My approach is simple: explain the concept clearly, solve one example together, then you solve similar questions with my guidance.

A typical lesson plan:

5 min: Goals and quick diagnostic (where you are stuck).
10 min: Concept review with a clear worked example.
25–35 min: Guided practice (you solve, I correct steps and reasoning live).
5–10 min: Mini quiz or timed questions for accuracy and speed.
Wrap up: key takeaways + a short practice plan for the week.

What sets me apart:

I focus on making you independent: how to start a question, choose the right method, and check your answer.
I explain in multiple ways (visual, step by step, and shortcut methods) until it clicks.
I support homework, tests, and long term foundation building, not just one off questions.

Who the lessons are for:

Grades 5–8: math foundations (fractions, decimals, ratios, percentages, word problems, intro geometry).
Grades 9–12: math (functions, trig, vectors, calculus basics) and physics (kinematics, forces, energy, momentum, basic circuits).
First year uni: intro calculus, physics, and engineering style problem solving.
