About Maureen
I am a Physics, Science and Math teacher with over 20 years experience . Before coming to the states. I had taught in Nigeria's most prestigious secondary schools and had led the students to achieve great success in the subject matter of physics and Math in the West African Senior Secondary school Certificate Examination. I hold a bachelor's degree in Education/Physics from University of Nigeria Nsukka and a Masters Degree in Educational Administration and Supervision from Seton hall University South Orange. studies have shown that using black board or the typical lecture methods are not adequate for science and math. Hence more than conveying the facts or findings in science and related subjects, students will love to explore the world of science. therefore i will use innovative teaching method to substitute the typical teaching techniques . My method will emphasize Hands on Learning- this will involve the active participation of the learners to experience scientific concepts than to just have an audience view. furthermore, I will also use role pay method to get the learners intellectually and physically involved while learning the new concepts. other strategies that will benefit the learners is building instructional conversations to teach science vocabulary to the learners. This is done by letting the learners talk in between the lecture about the experience they had with an application related to the topic of discussion. Other strategies will be my introduction of Science Text cards. Word games. Graphic organizers and Virtual Science labs( which are available online for free)
