About Gallegos
I've got a biology degree, and math and science have pretty much always been my thing — I was usually the one friends came to when something wasn't clicking.
I think in terms of reasoning more than memorizing, so I'm strongest with the stuff you can actually work your way through — geometry, physics, the logic side of chemistry. I've also been the student stuck in a class that's moving way too fast, so I know what that's like, and I don't mind going slow or explaining the same thing a few different ways. Not going to make you feel dumb for not getting something the first time.

I teach math and science — math up through Calculus 1, so algebra, trig, and geometry, plus biology, chemistry, and intro college physics. Geometry's the one I'm best at.
The approach is pretty simple. I don't do the just-memorize-the-formula thing — we work out why something is true first, and once that clicks you mostly don't need to memorize it anymore, it just makes sense. And usually when someone's stuck, it's not that they're bad at the subject. Something earlier got skipped or rushed, and now everything built on top of it feels impossible, so we go back and fix that.
Whatever pace works for you, in person around Sacramento or online.
