About Vickie
As a seasoned educator with over two decades of experience, I believe every child can learn math when lessons are clear, engaging, and connected to real life. My tutoring sessions are interactive and encouraging, designed to help students build confidence, develop number sense, and truly understand math concepts rather than just memorize steps. A typical session begins with a quick check-in and review of prior learning, followed by focused practice on a targeted skill or concept. Students then engage in real-world application problems, and we close with reflection and goal-setting to ensure progress carries forward between sessions. These sessions are designed for students in grades 2–5 who need extra support, enrichment, or a confidence boost in math. Whether your child struggles with basic facts, multi-step problems, or simply needs a stronger foundation, I provide individualized lessons that meet them where they are. What makes me different is my deep background as a teacher, principal, and instructional coach. I understand how children learn best and how to connect math to the skills and standards expected in school.
