About Kirsty

I have over 25 years of teaching experience in traditional classrooms, my own homeschool, small group tutoring, and online graduate teaching. I have written a k-12 math curriculum and earned my Ph.D. in curriculum and instruction.
My gift is helping to identify the "missing link" and explaining concepts in such a way as to help the lightbulb come on.

About the lesson

I emphasize using the classical method of education to build a solid foundation of knowledge and facts and then develop understanding and connections between the facts. I help you to know what to memorize and what not to do!
I expect you to bring your questions and sample problems to our session to work through together. I will bring additional resources as needed to plug any gaps in your knowledge.
I emphasize lifetime learning over test prep, but I will equip you to approach exams with confidence.
I help high school students, homeschool students, and adult learners, and my specialty is working with parents to equip them to help their children. Time with parents is the most efficient tutoring!
