My teaching approach is to initially give students a solid foundation of the material learned beforehand, and then, we can start to dive deeper into the new material that the student needs help with. In math especially, the material learned beforehand is crucial to understanding new, advanced areas of mathematics.
I'm a current junior at Texas Tech University majoring in Physics and Math, and I have an incredible passion for both subjects. Growing up with both parents being teachers, I believe I have a true understanding of the importance of education. As a student falls behind in their grades, they may feel as if he/she's in a hole that they're not capable of escaping, but I'm here to help them better understand so that they can begin to build their self-belief, which will in turn create a desire to achieve more for themselves. My father being a high school Math teacher, I was always responsible for helping him grade papers and helping his students better understand the Algebra being taught, so I'm very familiar with what the teachers are looking for nowadays.
