About Maryam

Before high school, I went to a Magnet school where I excelled within their competitive program that offered many unique and advanced classes for students who are accepted based on application. Now, I attend and International Baccalaureate school where I am involved in a variety of advanced courses and extracurriculars.
This pad year as a 10th grader, I took OnRamps Statistics for Math and am planning on taking Pre-Calc next year and Calculus Senior Year. I have completed all math subjects from Algebra 1 to Algebra 2.
I am also taking Advanced German 3, which allowed me to gain the amazing opportunity to be selected among 16 out of 400 students to compete in the International German Olympics United States Preliminary Round. Additionally, I have competed in the Texas State German Contest and placed as top 3 in several categories. I love learning new languages and particularly enjoy German’s uniqueness and the amount of opportunities learning it offers.
I also have a great passion for art and will soon be one of my school’s 12 representatives in the VASE state competition.
I am excelling in all areas of school maintaining a GPA of over 4.0 throughout my two years in high school and taking all honors classes.
I would like to be a tutor so that I can use my experience and advancements to help struggling students enjoy learning. Everyone has a weak spot when it comes to school subjects, and I think becoming a tutor would really help me share (and grow) my knowledge while helping kids get better.

About the lesson

I am a dedicated sophomore in high school and I’m excited to use my advanced understanding in a variety of subjects to help students reach that “aha moment.”
My lessons are targeted towards students grades 2-10 who need help in subjects of math ranging from elementary math to Algebra 2 and statistics. As a highschool student who recently took these classes and completed them with straight As I believe I am qualified to tutor these subjects since I have plenty of experience and knowledge on what methods work best for students.
A typical lesson plan would include practice problems, personalized walk throughs, real world examples and completing student’s school work.
