About Sienna
For 11 years, I’ve helped middle school students move from math confusion to clarity. My background in Mathematics for Data Science gives me a strong foundation for teaching algebra in a clear, structured way. I specialise in linear equations, polynomial expressions, and functions — topics that often trip students up early on. My goal is to make these ideas intuitive through puzzles, patterns, and real-life applications. Instead of rote learning, we focus on why math works the way it does. Every student learns differently, and I adapt my lessons to suit visual, logical, or hands-on learners. Math anxiety is something I take seriously; I know how it can block progress. That’s why I build a supportive, low-pressure environment where students feel safe to try and learn. Over time, confidence grows naturally. I love seeing that moment when a student finally says, “Oh, I get it now!” Algebra isn’t scary — it’s just another language waiting to be understood.

My teaching method is all about making math meaningful and useful. I combine standard topics with financial applications like interest rates, investment growth, and budgeting. I want students to see how mathematical models guide real-life financial choices. My lessons include clear explanations and examples that relate to practical situations. For coding enthusiasts and Olympiad learners, I incorporate structured logic exercises and problem-solving strategies. These help develop precision and analytical thinking. I believe in a balance between theory and application. Students learn to calculate, reason, and reflect — not just memorise. We often discuss how math connects to daily financial decisions, such as comparing savings or analysing spending. I make sure every student feels supported and confident at each step. Patience, repetition, and creativity drive my sessions. Over time, students start viewing math as a valuable tool for managing life. The goal is to build mathematical understanding that supports both confidence and real-world success.
