I basically start from the background knowledge according to students need, regarding the fact that every student is not same, so start from point 1 and gradually move forward. I love to ask questions to students from what i taught. Also to make lectures more fun i play some games and riddles which help students to remember content well. Moreover, i focus more on visual knowledge and examples. As it is easy to retain visual knowledge.
