About Anissa
I've been giving lessons for about 6 years on and off, including at home help with children of friends and family. I have worked not only one on one with individual students, but also with a classroom of difficult learners, who came out of each class with more knowledge and a better understanding of the subject. Although I was only fortunate enough to assist in teaching one Fifth grade class, I was happy to hear that they all graduated to the sixth grade as well as started high school with a great attitude later on. I have helped the most stressed students understand concepts they found difficult to grasp and have helped improve grade scores from Fs to Bs and As.

My whole life, I've wanted to be a teacher. This decision led me to major in Education and Early Childhood Development. Although I'm not formally trained as a tutor, I have worked for year offering homework help to friends and family ages 6 and up. I'm patient, organized, and focused, all while keeping the child engaged in the subject. Making learning entertaining is very efficient with younger children, but I am also straight forward and make sure the lesson is successful.
