About Devon
I have been teaching Math for the past two years at Urban Academy in New Westminster. Before that, I worked as a Math tutor specifically for children with ADHD. I have worked with kids for over ten years and each student that I mentored in Math saw improvements on future report cards. I love Math and I think it can be fun!

I have been teaching middle school Math for the last two years. I have found that there are many fears and ideas about Math that I believe lead to a fixed mindset of someone thinking that they are bad at Math and always will be. I look at how each student approaches Math and learning in general and then I help them attach to the material in a way that makes sense based on their learning style. Lessons can supplement the teaching that is happening in school, or can be created as stand-alone lessons for each student, depending on what they need. I can also help with homework and design questions that will challenge them, while meeting them at their level. Lessons can include work on a whiteboard, discussions, games, and help with homework.
