When I teach I like to know how much the student knows first, then move from there. Rather it's correcting what they know so far or showing them other ways to find the answer. I like them to know that there is always more than one way to find the answer. I always make sure everything is understood by doing practice problems before moving on. I even do practice at the end to be sure they understand. I like solving the problems at the same time that way if they did something wrong, we can look at the correct one and see what went wrong.
