I believe every student can succeed in math with the right support, structure, and encouragement. My approach as a tutor is centered on building confidence, creating a supportive learning environment, and making math meaningful and understandable for each student.
My teaching method:
I focus on clear, step-by-step explanations and adapt my teaching style to fit each student’s needs. I prioritize understanding over memorization by helping students see why concepts work, not just how to solve problems. I also incorporate real-world examples when possible to make math more relevant and engaging. I strive to create a space where students feel comfortable asking questions and taking risks without fear of judgment.
A typical lesson:
A lesson usually begins with a quick review of previous material or homework to identify any gaps. From there, I introduce or revisit concepts with guided examples, followed by practice problems where I support the student as needed. As the student gains confidence, I gradually reduce support so they can solve problems independently. I also check for understanding throughout the session and adjust the pace to match the student’s comfort level.
