Looking for help in understanding mathematics? I have helped students master their basic multiplication and division facts, learn long division, understand fractions, decimals and percents and their relationship to each other, transition into algebra, understand basic concepts and theorems in geometry, learn how to remember reference angles in Trig, and understand the definition of a derivative in calculus. I like to use a hands-on approach whenever possible. I am adept at making math accessible and practical for my students, young students especially.
Typically, the lesson starts with a "Welcome" and "Warm-Up." After soliciting student questions and difficulties (s)he would like to have addressed during the lesson, we dive right into instruction, practice and feedback. We will have some helpful hints, shortcuts, test-taking strategies, or study strategies as indicated. We usually wrap up with student questions and a plan/prescription for further practice/study.
I can help you attenuate your math stressors and increase your number sense, math understanding, math skills, and confidence.
