About Mohammmed

My name is Mohammed, and I bring a slightly unusual path to IB Math tutoring. I completed my IB Diploma at the International Schools Group in Jubail, Saudi Arabia, and I'm now studying Industrial Engineering at FAU Erlangen-Nürnberg in Germany — one of the country's leading technical universities.

I'm trilingual in German, Arabic, and English, and I've lived and studied across multiple countries and school systems, which has taught me how to explain the same concept in different ways until it clicks. Having gone through IB Math SL myself only recently, and now applying that same mathematics daily in an engineering degree, I understand both the exam pressure students are under and where this math actually leads afterward.

I care about students actually understanding why a method works, not just memorizing steps to pass an exam — and I bring the same problem-first, question-driven approach that helped me succeed in the IB myself.

About the lesson

My name is Mohammed, and my approach is built around active problem-solving rather than passive review. Instead of re-explaining a topic from scratch, I prepare a set of challenging, exam-style questions on the concept we're working on, then walk through them together — this reveals exactly where the gap in understanding is and lets me explain the underlying concept in context, not in the abstract.

A typical lesson starts with a quick check on where the student currently stands, moves into 2-3 carefully chosen difficult problems that expose weak points, and ends with a short recap connecting the problems back to the core concept, plus a couple of practice questions to try independently before the next session.

What sets me apart is that I only recently completed this exact syllabus myself, and I now use this same math daily as an engineering student — so I remember precisely where it gets confusing, and I can show how it's actually applied afterward.

These lessons are for IB Diploma students taking Math SL, at any level from those catching up to those aiming for a 6 or 7, including exam technique and Internal Assessment support.
