About the lesson

Hi I'm Katie! I graduated from college last year with a degree in mathematics. I have been helping students with math for a couple of years now. Math is really my passion, that's why I chose to study it in college!
After graduation, I planned on being an actuary. However, I have to come to realize that I really want to be a teacher. I am currently working towards getting my teaching certificate. Hopefully I will be a high school math teacher by next year. But in the mean time, I would really love to help students succeed in math through tutoring.

About Katie

While growing up, I was always tutoring my classmates in math. During college, I realized the potential of tutoring and started tutoring children mainly in algebra.
I have tutored a variety of ages, from elementary to college students. They have been successful. It is extremely important to me that my students actually learn how to do the work, instead of me just telling them how to do problems. I usually work through one problem with them, and then try to encourage them to give it a try on their own. I also try to get them excited about learning, because it always helps tremendously!
