About Emily
Math is everywhere in our daily lives, especially when it comes to managing money. In my lessons, we explore how mathematical thinking can help make smart financial decisions. From understanding how interest grows on savings or loans to learning the basics of investments and budgeting, every concept is tied to practical, real-world situations.
We use examples from everyday life to make the math clear and relatable. You’ll learn how to plan a budget, compare financial options, and calculate risks and returns. Each lesson builds confidence and shows how numbers can guide better choices.
The focus is on understanding concepts, not just memorising formulas. Lessons are tailored to your pace, making it easy to follow and apply. You’ll gain the tools to solve financial problems efficiently and accurately.

I have over 10 years of experience teaching mathematics and hold an MSc in Mathematical Modelling. My passion lies in using mathematics to understand social systems and human behaviour. I am particularly fascinated by network theory and agent-based modelling, which allow us to study how individuals connect, interact, and influence one another.
Through these tools, I explore how social structures form, how information or diseases spread, and how collective behaviour emerges. I enjoy showing students that mathematics is not just abstract—it is a lens to understand real-world patterns. My lessons combine theory and practice, helping students apply quantitative methods to analyse human systems.
I focus on developing both analytical skills and critical thinking. Students learn to approach problems creatively, using models and data to uncover insights. My aim is to make mathematics engaging, relevant, and empowering.
