About FISAYO
I come from a poor working-class family, and it was difficult growing up. My mom and Dad had to work multiple jobs to help us get by and couldn't help me with my homework very often. In school, I was very quiet and lacked the confidence of my classmates whose family lives were a lot different from mine. But then, during my first year of secondary school, I was placed in Ms. Thompson's class, and my life really did change from that point. She provided me with the reassurance and attention I needed to build my courage. Her classroom was such a warm environment, and she was utterly dedicated to helping students like me realize their higher potential. I would love to emulate the environment she created and show children that they are capable of achieving anything and that, with hard work and dedication, no dream is too big. I want to make a safe space for children where teamwork and compassion are celebrated with as much emphasis as good test results. Above all, I want to be a teacher who empowers students like me, who just need that extra love and encouragement.
