As a math tutor with experience, I have seen pretty much everything. From the impatient student who just wants the answer to the more patient student who wants to understand how an answer is arrived at. Then there's the student who really has no mathematics know-how. I keep every detail visible when it matters, especially with quantifiers, domains, and logical connectives, because that’s where students actually learn to think like mathematicians. I adapt completely to your preferred level of precision, matching your notation, your pedagogical goals, and your style, so you’re never forced into shortcuts that hide the machinery. I collaborate rather than lecture, refining your ideas with you instead of overwriting them, and I never rush past subtle points—those are the places where understanding deepens. The $25/hr rate is actually quite reasonable in my opinion. I tutor for the love of Mathematics and for your desired interest in learning the course you're taking. For $25/hr I get an opportunity to take you from perhaps a failing situation to mastery. All you have to do is bring your willingness to learn.
