About Adeline
I have a Bachelor's degree in Math and a Master's degree in Computer Science, and I have a passion for both subjects.
While working on my Bachelor's degree, I was a tutor for Collage Algebra, Pre-calculus, and a "Math for the real-world" class. I taught Geometry at a Hight School, before deciding to move on to a masters in Computer Science.
By day I'm a Systems Engineer, where I put my math and computer science skills to work, but I've always loved mentoring and tutoring, and find much joy in working side-by-side with students to not just improve their math or computer science skills, but learn to love the subject and thrive!

My approach to tutoring is to focus on what is currently being learned in class. While the student works through homework or additionally assigned problems aloud, I assess their understanding. When I see it necessary, I take a step back to solidify the foundations and building blocks that are misunderstood or lacking.
I strongly believe that everyone is capable of learning math, and to improve your math abilities, it is crucial that the foundations are in place. I love the challenge of working backwards to find the foundational gaps, filling those in, and watching a student thrive.
Math is hard, but by working backwards and building up the foundation, students are capable of great things!
