Teaching is an art and a science. The process of the art of teaching analyzed in art’s basic structure: in creating the outer, sensual form, the inner, meaningful form, and the core element of significance to societal infrastructure, not only leads a teacher to draw curriculum and assessment goals, but will also seed growth in learners- by executing the poststructuralist postmodernist theory (Michel Foucault) that work done at one’s limit, where lies the will to know and search beyond truth, is the meeting place of the zone of proximal development. The science of teaching in adhering to Standards through implementing formative and summative assessments within developmentally appropriate practices may be exercised as an existentialist and perennialist philosophies: individual and emotional commitment to living authenticity and the cultivation of rational powers and understanding timeless questions such as what is truth and beauty and interconnectedness. An underlying current must be teaching with equity, in order to: to secure the rights instituted by government of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness, to establish justice, to ensure domestic tranquility, to provide for the common defense, to promote general welfare, to secure the blessings of liberty for ourselves and our posterity. My own pedagogy will be a practice of rendering as key adherence to mutual respect, caring, and fairness.
