About Nikashia
Good day, my name is Nikashia! I’m a Primary School Teacher from the Durban, South Africa. I completed a Postgraduate Certificate in Education from the University of KwaZulu-Natal, and I have just completed a Bachelor of Education Honours degree in Special Needs Education from the North-West University. Prior to completing my PGCE, I obtained a Bachelor of Commerce degree majoring in Marketing and Supply Chain Management from the University of KwaZulu-Natal.
I now have 5 years of teaching experience and I have taught Mathematics, English, Social Science, Physical Education and Economic and Management Sciences to learner from Grades 4 to 7. I also have the experience of teaching Mathematics to learners of Grade 9 level, and Mathematical literacy to Grade 10, 11 & 12 learners in my previous teaching role at a secondary school.

My expertise lies in recognizing that all learners are different, and learn at different levels to which I can tailor the curriculum and assessments to suit the various learning styles within my classroom as well as identifying various barriers to learning that learner’s experience. I teach in the English language. I am able to assist students with mathematics and English in order to improve their results to higher levels, as well as assisting with students who struggle with literacy and numeracy barriers.
