About Sabawoon

I graduated from Queen Mary university of London with a BSc Mathematics (Heavily focused on Algebra and Statistics). I am a Qualified Maths teacher with over 5 years of experience working in London schools. I’ve worked with students from different backgrounds and different abilities, supporting their needs accordingly.

Great teachers don’t just teach you; they change you. My Maths teacher had a profound impact on my studies. Through him, I grew to understand the power and possibility of the profession. ‘teaching’ for me, is a limitless ground on Which students cultivate skills that allows them to build a future. The role of a teacher would enable me to support children in reaching their potential during an integral phase in their development. Being a trainee teacher in a secondary school, coupled with the tutoring of students has clearly demonstrated to me how important the role of a teacher is. My own experiences have shown me how expanding one’s knowledge can stimulate contentment and thus has transformed teaching from being a career to a vocation that I am determined to pursue.

About the lesson

My teaching style is calm and informal. Although class discipline is always maintained I strive to make learning a fun process.

Teaching to the test is not my approach. I focus on students gaining a sound understanding of the subject.

I work on the basis that student difficulties usually arise from an insufficiently rich understanding of 'easy' topics. By investing time to revisit some of these easier areas and studying them in a more thorough and enriching way, students can subsequently make rapid progress whilst gaining an appreciation and enjoyment of their studies.
