About Alexander
I'm Alex, a Finance Master's student at university. I achieved A*s in GCSE and A-level Maths, alongside strong grades in Physics and Further Maths. I remember being in your shoes—maths and physics weren't always straightforward for me! Things became much easier when I learnt to enjoy these subjects, finding areas that genuinely interested me. That's exactly what I aim to help you do. I've tutored Maths at school and genuinely enjoy making challenging topics approachable and engaging. My goal is to build your understanding from the ground up, helping you find confidence and hopefully inspiring you to take your studies further. Above all, I'm here to help you absolutely smash your Maths/Physics GCSEs!

Initially, I like to gauge the levels of students in different areas of a subject. This helps to paint a better picture of where a student might need help in terms of their skills—weaker differentiation/integration could be a sign of lacking algebra practice, for example. Anyone can learn maths or physics, but not everyone enjoys the subjects, which can make them tricky to navigate at times—we've all been there! I look to find where students enjoy their subjects and build on that, making their studying a more pleasurable experience for them (possibly even inspiring them to take said subjects to the next level!). Lesson lengths are 1 hour and can be extended upon request. It's important that students have ample time to learn, practise, and try different techniques, but very long sessions can lead to students losing track of what they've learnt at times. I have an A* in GCSE Mathematics and Physics, and an A* in A-level Mathematics, with two As in A-level Physics and Further Mathematics. I read Mathematics at the University of Bath for my Bachelor's and am currently doing a Master's in Finance. I have assisted in tutoring Mathematics at my school and to family members alike. I have experience in teaching Excel and swimming additionally. Lessons are intended for students aged 14-16 (Years 10-11).
