About the lesson

I had a time in my life during school when l was never good at mathematics and that was because l didn't know how to approach it. Furthermore, l would be worried that l will never succeed in this area of my academics. However, my parents had gotten me a brilliant tutor named Steven Mercer, and he was my engine in the fact that he fueled me to start working harder and do much more practice. Having said that, he was much more useful in the sense that he gave me a lot more useful tips on how to approach certain problems and that increased my performance on examinations. And yes, l know it is incredibly difficult to get everything to "click" but once it does, you'll start to feel more confident as you progress through the higher difficulties of mathematics. Moreover, that was a little personal story l wanted to tell you, but onto what you would expect from my lessons. In terms of who l want to teach, l would love to teach youth who are in grade 9 to grade 11 level as that is the time when your math becomes a little more than numbers and you start to deal with variables such as "x" and "y". Ugh, Are you kidding me, x and y, Really?!! However, don't worry as l will guide you to a path that will give you a competitive edge over your peers and that is with really starting to grasp where these concepts come from. So a typical lesson plan would be about 45-60 min long and consist of first teaching where these concepts come from, who theorized them, and why we use them in today's world, then we move on to looking at some basic level problems to get us warmed up. Furthermore, once we get the brain sharpened, we can start diving into more complex problems that will gear you to start thinking more analytically and what the problem is asking instead of what l like to call the" memorize and write" method. Lastly, once the lesson is finished, l would give you some sort of homework or task to complete until the next tutoring session and start getting you to be more confident about yourself. Please do not worry if you make a mistake, everyone does, including me, and it's just part of life. So just relax, take a deep breath, and we'll get through this together. I know the position you are in as l have been in your shoes and now with the experience that l have, l know exactly how to tutor and mentor you to become the best possible version of yourself. You would find tutors who could be very plain Jane in the sense that they only want to teach for the money, but l wanna see a student of mine start to grow in confidence and start to get the results they truly want.
